It is located among the towering dunes of Namibia Desert where once the desert life thrived, now looks like a forest frozen in time. It is believed that some 900 years ago due to climate change the river dried up and was followed by a drought. Hence the trees died soon after however, the skeletons of trees are standing against all the odds. The scorching sun has turned these skeletons black, and they are too dry to decompose. DeadVile is not that dead as there are certain species of beetles, Oxy, Salsola shrubs and clumps of Nara Melon have managed to exist in harsh conditions as well.

Dragon Blood Forest

Dracaena Cinnabari commonly known as the Socotra dragon tree or dragon blood tree is native to the woodlands of the Socotra islands of the Republic of Yemen. These trees resemble an upside down an umbrella or a giant mushroom because of the densely packed crown and a single trunk. These trees grow in limestone rich arid areas under harsh conditions. This tree has got its name from the red resin, popularly known as dragon blood, which the trees produce. It was referred as ‘cinnabar' by ancients and has quite a lot of medicinal uses, and due to overutilization, it has been classified as vulnerable species. There are various stories associated with this tree. One of them states that a great battle between an elephant and a dragon was witnessed and it is through dragon's blood this tree came into existence.

Crooked Forest

In Poland, outside the village of Nowe Czarnowo there exists a strange and alien landscape. It is an area consisting of a collection of 400 oddly shaped pine trees. All of the trees have an unusual 90-degree bend in the north, but nobody can figure out why these trees have grown in such an unusual manner. Many theories have been proposed as a plausible explanation like some believe these curves were the result of fluctuations in gravitational forces. Another theory states that heavy snowstorm could have bent the trees like this and long spring melt, would have permanently shaped the trees. However, the very widely accepted idea is that these curves are shaped by humans for furniture or, making boats, or yokes. Even after so many years, Crooked Forest remains a mystery.

Sunken Forest

A jaw dropping stunning view is offered by Kaindy lake also famous as sunken forest. It is 400-meter long lake located in Kazakhstan. This unusual underwater forest was formed due to a massive landslide that led to the formation of the natural dam. Imposing trunks of submerged Spruce trees rising out of the water make the whole scene even more surreal. From above the water surface, these trees appear as large masts from lost ghost ships which create a strange effect. It is astonishing to see these submerged pines continue to thrive even under water. One can use the idea of the sunken forest in our garden and create the same effect using artificial trees by planting them upside down in the pond.

Dancing Forest

Located in Russia, Kaliningrad's Dancing Forest is a pine forest with trees bent in odd postures, as if dancing. Bends in the tree are at pretty odd and curvy angles, and most of them have twisted circular loops resembling a ring. Various theories are surrounding these unusual formations like locals believe forest is located on a spot where massive amounts of negative and positive energy collide. However, some believe distortion is caused due to geological factors like the unstable sandy soil. Another plausible theory is it caused by the activity of the caterpillar of Rhyacionia buoliana. Whatever the reason might be, formations seem to be a natural phenomenon. There is a myth surrounding these forests that if one gets through such a ring making a wish, it will come true.

Beech tree tunnel

Like Stuarts even if you want to do same you can arrange fake palm trees carefully at your entrance.
