C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc. recently built a new office building overlooking the Minnesota River with a contemporary and open two-story lobby. The architects envisioned tall and narrow trees to accentuate columns and fit the look and feel of the building, but there was not enough light from above to sustain the Bamboo trees they had in mind. They turned to Commercial Silk Int’l to provide faux Bamboo trees for the main office lobby and smaller trees to be placed decoratively throughout the building.
Commercial Silk Int’l worked with the architects to specify the proper faux Bamboo tree height, silk foliage density, and plant container sizes. Other major considerations, including fire codes, financial budgets, and a design decoration that accentuated the contemporary atmosphere were also addressed. With all of this in mind, Commercial Silk Int’l designed custom Bamboo trees that catered to the specific needs of the C.H. Robinson building.
Commercial Silk Int’l manufactured and installed 30’ fire retardant
faux Oriental Bamboo trees and green artificial Bamboo foliage. The Bamboo foliage provided a unique contrast to the red structural columns, and the tall, thin trees enhanced and brightened the contemporary office building atmosphere.
